3. Display the usage guide if there is user help
Set this option to always see the guide window on the screen that provides the guide.
1. Select device
If you select the mike and audio device connected to the PC, then the sound output to the pertaining device will be recorded in the video.
2. Video setting
This enables you to set FPS, size, and quality of the video. Increasing the bit rate will enhance the video quality. You can also set recording quality for general screen recording and game recording modes.
The Codec allows you to choose between H/W encoding(encoding via NVIDIA, Intel Quick Sync graphics card) or CPU encoding.
H/W encoding is high quality but the file size is larger than the CPU encoding. CPU encoding has a small file size but low quality compared to H/W encoding. Please choose according to the quality and size of the file.
NVIDIA, Intel Quick Sync options are only exposed if your device is supported on your PC, and only in CPU encoding if you do not have both devices
3. Audio setting
This enables you to set the format, channel, and quality of the audio recorded in the video. Increasing the bit rate will improve the audio quality.
1. Set file path
This menu enables you to view or change the file storage path. To change the path, click the [Browse] button.
2. File name
This menu enables you to set rules for stored file names. The default rule for file names is 'COMCAM Date_Time'.
User Definition + Date and Time : The user may add text to the front of the date. For example, if you want to add “My Video” in front of the date, enter that text into the input field, and then the files created afterwards will have the name start with “My Video”.
Date + Time : This setting will record files with names including the date and time at which they are created, without any additional text in the name.
3. Divide file size
This function enables you to divide one video file into files of a specified size. For example, if a 1-hour video is stored in a file, it will be difficult to share that file in an SNS or attach it to an e-mail. In such cases, it will facilitate uploading of the file if it is divided into smaller files that are 100 MB or 200 MB in size. Under Divide Storage Size, you can choose the unit size in which video file should be divided. If you set the size of divided files at 100 MB and record a video, then the video will be stored as divided files that are each 100 MB in size.
1. Automatic stop
This is a function that enables automatic stopping of a recording. The recording stops at a set time or file size when you click the Start Recording button without setting a recording duration.
1) Recording Time
If you set Hour:Min:Sec, then the program will carry out the action that you select under “Select Action” when the recording time elapses for the set time.

Shut down PC : At the set time, the recording will be stopped and the PC will be turned off.

Stop Recording : At the set file size, the recording will be stopped.
Exit Program : At the set file size, the recording will be stopped and the program (GOM Cam) will be closed.
Shut down PC : At the set time, the recording will be stopped.

5. Keep the last effect settings when exit the program
This option will store the effects added to the Set Effect window in the Effect List until it is deleted by the user. This enables you to choose whether to keep the setting made in the Effect List for the next recording. If the last setting state is “Use”, then the last effect will be applied automatically to the next recording.
6. Display the recording menu tooltip during recording
Because everything in the recording area will be recorded during the recording, the tooltip message shown while you use the menu buttons in the Recording window may get in the way of image shown in the video. If you disable this option, then tooltip messages shown while you use the menu button will not be recorded.
7. Save recent drawing tools
This saves the last drawing tool you've used so that you can use it again in the next recording.
8. Automatically increase the size when resolution is not right
This corrects the resolution when an error occurs in the resolution settings for the recording area. If this option is checked, a narrow black band may appear on the edge of the recorded image because the resolution error has been corrected to a larger image than that of the resolution settings at the time of recording. It is recommended that you check this option if you have elements (certain pictures, images, captions, etc.) that you don't want to be cropped at the edge of the image. If a resolution error occurs while the option is off, the image will be smaller than that of the resolution settings at the time of recording, so the edge of the recorded image may be slightly cropped.
